For a child, a scholarship can be the deciding factor between pursuing higher education or having that opportunity slip out of reach. It opens doors to learning, growth, and a future filled with possibilities that might otherwise remain inaccessible. This directly reflects the Kiwanis International mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time by investing in the potential of young people.
The Kiwanis Club of KCK West is proud to offer the following scholarships annually:
Kiwanis-KC West Educational Grant
and
Larry Frew and Don Jolley Memorial Scholarships
IMPORTANT DATES
Each year, applications open by March 1 and are due by April 15.
Students interested in applying for a Kiwanis Educational Grant or Larry Frew Memorial scholarship are encouraged to check this page again in March.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
All completed applications must be postmarked through U. S. mail before the due date.
Scholarship funding is limited, and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee scholarship selection.
All High School Seniors who live and are attending an accredited high school in Wyandotte County are eligible to apply.
Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to be eligible.
This is a one-year scholarship, with no provisions for renewal.
A completed application requires:
Grant application information page filled out,
A letter of recommendation from a school or activity representative (cannot be a family member),
A sealed original/official high school transcript, and
An essay.
AWARDS
Up to six Educational Grants will be awarded for $1,000 each.
One applicant may be awarded the Don Jolley Memorial Scholarship.
One applicant who is a member of the Piper High School Key Club may be awarded the Larry Frew Memorial Scholarship.
